
Virginia Lago (born May 22, 1940, in San Martín, Argentina) is a leading Argentine actress with an extensive career in theater, film, and television. She gained particular notoriety as the host of the popular film cycle *Historias de corazón*, broadcast on Telefe.
Virginia Lago was born in San Martín, north of Greater Buenos Aires. She lived in Villa Ballester until she was 20 years old. She completed her primary education at School No. 11 "Roberto Noble" and her secondary studies at the Tomás Guido school in San Martín. She is a cousin and was a neighbor of the actress Zully Moreno, who also resided in the area.
In 1963, she delivered a standout performance in the play *Pygmalion*. She studied theater with Marcelo Lavalle and Roberto Durán at the Institute of Modern Art, and through acting, she learned from a wide array of performers. In 1966, she worked on the program *Galería Polyana*, which aired with great success from May to October on Canal 9. The show ran Monday through Friday, based on scripts by playwright Clara Giol Bressan, and featured a cast that included Susana Campos, Fanny Navarro, Enzo Viena, Ricardo Passano, Patricia Shaw, Aída Luz, María José Demare, Nelly Darén, and Gloria Raines.
